Neomi Millan is a graduate student pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry. Neomi is originally from Long Beach, California and has received her BS in Biochemistry and MS in Chemistry from San Jose State University. Her previous research experience investigated soluble recombinant expression of insoluble midgut proteases from the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Neomi’s current research project in the Cavagnero lab explores how the interactions between the ribosome and nascent chains are affected by the presence of molecular chaperones. Some of her hobbies include watching international shows/movies, spending time with her cats, going on bike rides, and hiking.
